I'm ready for my close up, Mr. DeMille...
I'm gonna be on TELEVISION! Woohoo!

Okay, yes, I've been on tv before. When I was um... in grade 7, I think. I was part of a group of girls who had an after-school hours group at the local YWCA and we were all collecting for Unicef and I had to play the part of a grubby little kid in some unnamed poor country who held up a collecting box and begged the audience "Won't you please give to UNICEF?" Yes, from a well-fed white kid it was a less than convincing performance. *g*

Apart from that and one or two brief appearances in school plays, a radio interview on CBC, (and a nanosecond glimpse of me in something the Goth Society did once for tv), that has been my claim to fame to date.

But now City TV (http://www.citytv.ca) is doing a new series called "I Heart" (you know, like those t-shirts "I heart New York" or those bumper stickers "I heart my cat's face") about people with pop culture collections. They sent a memo around to employees of City asking them if they knew anyone who would qualify. My friend Trese Hopper works in the Closed Captioning department (and, since she works essentially for deaf people, has been following the saga of my left ear with interest, but that's another blog entry). For some odd reason, when she got the memo, she thought of me. *blink* She e-mailed me to ask if I would give her permission to give out my contact info to this new show. They might be interested in my vampire collection.

So I said sure, and she did, and they are.

They've asked me if I'm free a weekday. I can't get time off on really short notice, but I could get a day next week without too much trouble. :)

So... who wants my autograph?

Here's a glimpse of what they want to film:

Pretty cool, eh? You can say you knew me when. LOL. I'm debating if I should wear one of my vampire t-shirts, or the full tuxedo rig with opera cape. *g*

That's really kind of cool. I'm sure you'll be able to get a URL of the broadcast so that those of us south of the border can watch...

I'd definitely go Full Gideon for this one.

That's cool! Sounds like fun! I just hope you're prepared to be recognized on the street by total strangers--because it might happen. I'd go with the tux and cape--tv producers salivate for a great visual. That's how I got on tv the last time. I know darn well it wasn't what I said. :-)

well, of course I'm thrilled for you! I say go the limit!! Dress up for the occasion, but somehow let it slip that this isn't the way you answer your door Monday morning, and have a lot of fun. Make sure you post WHEN it's going to be on, because some of us don't watch regular tv, but we want to be ready for your RETURN to the home screen!!!!

cheers!!!!
